| The Very Rev'd Lee Batson, Dean of Newcastle Cathedral led 30 MU members from Newcastle Diocese to discuss the work and influences of Mary Astell, Eleanor Allen, Grace Darlington and Josephine Butler. It was interesting to discuss how much, if at all, they linked with Mary Sumner and her work. The retreat linked thoughtful discussion with free time in a beautiful environment, craft work, good food, friendship and a lively concert with ‘After Evensong.’ | |
