Provincial Prayer Capsule visits Newcastle Diocese
The capsule is travelling through the dioceses of the Northern Province to celebrate the 150 anniversary of the Mothers' Union. In each Diocese photos of significant places, and MU members and events will be added to the capsule. This week, before the time capsule is passed on to Durham Diocese at Chester- le- Street next Sunday 17.5.26, the capule will visit: Holystone; the Roman Wall where the sycamore tree used to stand at Sycamore Gap; Holy Island; St. Francis, High Heaton MU meeting; the Quizz at St. Nicholas, Gosforth; and Howick Hall.

The MU branch at St. Francis, High Heaton, met the time capsule on Thursday evening 14.5.26. Ascension Day prayers opened the meeting. Members hear about the progress of the capsule so far this week. Newcastle MU have shared in the capsule's pilgrimage to places linked to Northumerland's history, and our Christian faith. Our past inspires us to face the present with renewed expectation that God will use us as torch bearers.

| The Provincial Prayer capsule was handed over to the Durham Diocese MU in a service at St.Mary and St. Cuthbert, Chester- le- Street. It will then travel to Leeds Diocese and then to York Diocese. On 4 June Zonal Trustee, Deb Lee and Geoff Fellows, a Sheffield MU member will take it down to London by bike for the service at St Paul's Cathedral on 10th June | |
