ALL SAINTS GOSFORTH MU Takeover Sunday At the 9.30am Parish Communion Service on June 14th, our members 'took over' nearly all of the duties. We bought the altar flowers (white, blue and yellow of course!) and two of our members had arranged them. A display (noticeboard and table) at the back of church, promoted the work of the MU globally and it's 150 yrs celebrations. One churchwarden was a member and so were both acolytes. The intercessions, both readings and the giving out of Mary Sumner's prayer bookmarks to everyone, men included, were all covered by members and three more were singing in the choir. Not bad for a comparatively small group!...I was proud of them all. An added bonus was the realisation that our visiting preacher on the day, the Rev'd Malcolm Railton, was also an enrolled MU member. Pam Taylor Branch Leader. |
