Visit of World-wide President, Kathleen Snow, and York Provincial President, Christine Sharp.

Tuesday 8th July

St James’ Church, Benwell Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne. NE15 6RS.

Members meet at 1.30 in the church. ALERT – there is no heating and the church is cold even on warm days – bring warm layers!

Trustees – meet at 11.15 – please let Margy know if you will be attending.

Getting there:-

Bus No 31(every ten minutes) from Newcastle Central Station – stops outside St James’ Church, Benwell Lane. NE15 6RS.

From Central station: Taxis are available.

Car: Satnav – NE15 6RS. Corner of Condercum Road / Benwell Lane

For those who like maps – locate A69 / A1 roundabout – follow The West Road into Newcastle. At the Centre for Sport, turn right at traffic lights down Condercum Road. St James is at the corner of Condercum Road / Benwell Lane. Turn right to access the supermarket car park.

Helicopter or drone – land in the graveyard!

For those considering coming to St James in Benwell on 8th July to meet our new WWP, Kathleen Snow, please note:

  • The church is cold – bring a warm layer.
  • Please also consider bringing a donation for the Community Kitchen: the following are always most welcome - tea / coffee / sugar / packets of biscuits / tins of peas or baked beans / tinned cooked meat like corned beef or ham / tinned peaches, pears, oranges or pineapple.

Afternoon Tea in aid of the Women's Refuge- Long Benton

St Bartholomew's Long Benton Branch are hosting an Afternoon Tea in aid of the Women's Refuge we support on Saturday, 12th July from 2pm in the Church Hall.

There will be lots of delicious homemade treats and a raffle (of course).

Tickets are on sale at £5 per person.
