What is happening in Mothers' Union in Newcastle Diocese for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence and Abuse?
1. White Ribbon Sunday is 20th November. A service to remember those who have died this year from domestic abuse, will be held on this date at Hexham Abbey at 6.30.
2. A display of Flowers, alongside leaflets, will be in The Chapel of The Resurrection at Newcastle Cathedral throughout the 16 days. Please pop in and visit.
3. Mothers’ Union are asking members to hold 1 min. silence at 1.03 on Global Day. This could be individually by members at home or as a group. If the date and time is not right, then choose another time during the 16 days. At 1.00pm on Global Day we will hold 3 mins silence in The Chapel of The Resurrection at Newcastle Cathedral, followed by a short service of poetry, prayers and promises. Everyone is welcome.
4. We will hold midday prayers in St. Georges Chapel on Thursday 1st December. Anne Marr will then preside at the Eucharist at 12.30. The MU choir will sing at this service.
5. CADA will reveal the sand sculpture on their website on 25th November. It is hoped that they will share daily midday prayers, recorded by local people, on their website.
6. Members have received a daily Prayer Diary for 16 days of Activism.
7. Resources are available on the MU central and Newcastle Website.

Please take a photo of any activities you or your branch are involved with and send it for our website or face book page, so we can let people know what we are doing. Please remember to get permission from all people on photographs.
