We shall meet in St Georges URC to conclude our summer adventures with ‘Footsteps in Faith’. The church will be open from 10.30 until 2.30. A few all-age activities will be available, a display and also space to sit and chat, or eat your packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be on offer.
We hope that everyone will be there at 12.00 for Midday Prayers, which will be slightly ‘creative’ and inter-active. If you can, bring an item of footwear which reminds you of a significant time in your journey of life. If your group has made paper footprints with messages/prayers, please also bring some of them to share.
St George’s (URC) Church is next to the Telford Bridge, opposite the Chantry. Built in 1860 on the site of the Old Mill, the church continues to welcome and serve the community.
Getting to Morpeth
- By bus: Buses come to Morpeth from all parts of the county – the bus station is central, next to the Arcade.
- By train: Morpeth is on the main line between Newcastle and Edinburgh, and many (not all) trains stop here. It is a ten-minute walk from the station into town. Car parking is also available.
- By car: parking is free. Most car parks have a three-hour limit but long stay car parks can be found underneath Morrison’s supermarket, and also at Goosehill next to the Court House.
Parking: You will need to display a parking disc, set at the time you arrive, in our short stay parking places. The long stay (all day) car parks don’t require a disc. Parking discs cost £1 each and you can get one from: libraries / tourist information centres / customer information centres / local businesses. Parking discs issued with Blue Badges or from other local authorities can also be used.
Eating: There are many cafes in the town, including in the arcade, along Bridge Street, and at the Chantry. You are welcome to bring your lunch into St Georges. There will be tea and coffee available.
